HISTORY OF ACORA
Ken Timms started as a sawmiller in Eden in 1947 after the end of WW11- He started Reneco Engineering 1967 which is today known as Acora.
It was a small specialist company manufacturing logging forks and similar equipment for the timber industry. The business expanded to fill a growing need for the manufacture and installation of equipment for the hardwood timber industry, and in 1990 the company again took a new direction into providing similar services to the softwood industry. Our company has a strong financial base, employs and continually trains the best people available and strives to work diligently with our customers to ensure we will continue to prosper in all economic conditions.

1967
Foundation of Acora
Acora started business as Reneco Engineering, a partnership between Rene` Davidson and Ken Timms (father of the current owner Roger) – Rene` and Co = Reneco
1987
International Partners
Acora takes on agencies for overseas equipment manufacturers, one being Acora out of Sweden and we changed our trading name to Acora-Reneco. Thus we expand our products and services to a larger market.
1995
Expansion & Growth
Acora recognised by Australian Financial Review as Australia’s 6th fastest growing company
2000
Consolidation
Acora consolidates its size to suit the Industry it plans to service – the Timber Industry and concentrates on improving quality and efficiency with solid bases in Australia and New Zealand.
2015
Urgent Attention
Acora delays all projects for 4 months with the approval of its customers to concentrate on the urgent replacement of the Woodchip loading facility at Eden destroyed by an enormous wave. The wharf construction was recognised by Australian Port News as the fastest recorded wharf rebuild in history.
